The key points are:
- Increasing bad diet, obesity and Metabolic Syndrome are increasing cases of gout in America
 - Gout patients must control weight and reduce meat, seafood, and non-complex carbohydrates. High fat and low-carb diets make gout worse.
 - Weight control will lower uric acid as much as low purine diets.
 - Moderate alcohol consumption, including beer is acceptable for gout patients as long as uric acid is controlled.
 - Nonfat milk and low-fat yogurt may help gout.
